"I wish I had more to say about Dr. Solky's actual medical expertise, but unfortunately after one basic introductory visit, I was riddled with so many absolutely insane billing issues that I will never remotely consider going back to this doctor. I went in for a standard first visit to get to know the doctor, and after a mere 30 minutes in her office, I have now been subjected to 5 months of headaches, and over 25 phone conversations with her team that went nowhere, with every person I spoke to trying to pawn the issue off on someone else. There were 3 distinct billing issues that all somehow came out of that standard well woman exam. One was that she performed a blood type test that I did not ask for and tried to charge me $200 for it. When I went back to her to complain about the mistake, she nicely took it off the bill and told me her team would take care of it, but they screwed up the billing with my insurance (despite being an in network doctor) and double billed instead of replacing ...
the initial bill, so my claim was denied and I had to spend the time fixing it with my insurance company. The more severe issue was that, despite this being a standard well woman visit, she also decided to bill me for preconception counseling because she asked me a few basic questions about my potential future plans to get pregnant. Those billing codes were translated to my insurance company as infertility treatment (which could not possibly be further from the truth), and so my claim was denied since infertility coverage is not included in my policy. It has now been 5 months since my visit and this issue has still not be resolved. I was so panicked about Cedars Sinai coming after me for this payment that I should not owe that I went ahead and paid it to ensure it couldn't negatively affect my credit. These unnecessary headaches that came out of one basic visit are reason enough for me to never want to go back to this doctor, but what truly made this a terrible experience was how inept her team is. It took weeks for me to get calls back from various members of the billing team, and when I had them do a coding review to try to amend the issue with my insurance company, I left messages for 3 weeks before finally getting a call back from Katie Pastina in the billing office. I found out that she had gotten the information back over 2 weeks prior, and because she never gave me the info (despite me leaving her multiple messages), I received a delinquent notice from Cedars Sinai so I panicked and paid the bill. I left multiple messages for her supervisor Georgette who never called be back until I started leaving word for the doctor directly, and then Georgette claimed she never got any of my messages. Luckily I kept diligent notes on all of my phone conversations so I was able to tell her exactly when I had left word, and she frantically tried to make excuses and claim she shares her voicemail with another supervisor. It was sad honestly. And the icing on top of the cake is that I have now left about 5 messages for Dr. Solky herself and she refuses to call me back. I understand that billing is the last thing she wants to deal with, but when her team is taking weeks to get back to me about basic issues and is giving me the run around so much so that I have to pay incorrect bills to avoid issues with my credit, it is her job to keep everything in line and have some sort of control over her office. Going to Dr. Solky was by far the worst medical decision I have made in my entire life. Do yourself a favor and avoid the headaches. "
