"Visited this clinic after an accident for severe swelling, bruising, and pain in my lower leg. X-rays were taken and I was told by the physician's assistant Van der Heijden that nothing was broken. I already knew this from the x-rays my primary care physician had performed. The assistant sat across the room and only touched my leg to check how severe the swelling was. Diagnosis: Assumed blood clot. Treatment: Z-pack of steroids. This assistant neither checked mobility of my knee or ankle, nor did he check for any ligament tears/issues. If there are no broken bones, there are still ligaments and muscles which could be damaged or torn. I was given a compression stocking and sent on my way, with a follow-up appointment in 4 (!!!) weeks. Wasted $70 co-pay to walk out without a precise diagnosis. Prescription was never called in at my pharmacy. Unbelievable and unacceptable! Went on to another orthopedic facility to be evaluated and properly treated."
