Dr. Joyce N. Gunawan, DDS

Dr. Joyce Gunawan Dr. Joyce Gunawan grew up locally, attending the California State University Hayward as an undergraduate where she received a bachelor degree in biological sciences.  She was then accepted to the prestigious New York University  where she received her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree.  After dental school, Dr. Gunawan received advanced  training in a residency program at the United States Department of Veteran Affairs in Sacramento for a year.  Upon completing her residency, Dr. Gunawan practiced for several years delivering community health based dentistry in both the Hayward and Union City areas.  Dr. Gunawan and staff stay current on the newest and best dental treatment options for her patient by participating in many hours of continuing education throughout the year. She enjoys spending time with her family, volunteering and working with National Dental Association and the Colgate Van providing free dental screenings and oral health education to school …children.  She also participates at various local health fairs to help raise awareness about the importance of good oral health. Dr. Gunawan is a member of American Dental Association, California Dental Association, and Southern Alameda County Dental Association.
