"I was very happy with visiting Dr. Bourgeois for my preventative and wellness care, but when I had to consult her for a 5-month long pelvic pain issue, I felt as if I was not taken seriously and dismissed for asking questions. During the diagnostic period, I was reassured that my TV ultrasound looked completely normal, but the treatment plan proposed included an operative hysteroscopy and D&C. Suspecting a polyp was the cause of my pain, I was open to the idea of a hysteroscopy but hesitant to undergo such an extreme procedure like a D&C. I asked for her reason to want to perform a D&C and she was not able to give me a good reason and instead explained it was for convenience (if they saw something they could just take it out). I don't know about you, but I am not willing to go from 0 to 100 because it is more convenient for my provider. There are less extreme ways to diagnose the cause of pelvic pain (like a sonohysterogram first) instead of suggesting such an aggressive procedure right ...
off the bat. If you are a person that only needs wellness visits or likes to jump to extremes, then go for it. If you ever need anything more, or find the need to ask any questions to try and understand her reasoning, steer clear. "
