A native of Lincoln, Nebraska, John Treves joined MD West ONE (formerly Midwest Neurosurgery and Spine Specialists) in 1999. Dr. Treves is a Board Certified Neurosurgeon and is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. He completed his internship and neurosurgical residency at the University of Nebraska Medical Center, and is notably the first neurosurgeon to complete his entire training within the state of Nebraska. He was elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society during his residency. Dr. Treves earned his Bachelor of Science degree at the University of Nebraska at Lincoln, followed by a Master of Science degree in tumor biology. He completed his medical degree at the University of Nebraska Medical Center in 1993.
Dr. Treves has special areas of interest to include disorders of the spine and spinal instrumentation, neuro-oncology, and neurostimulation.
Priding himself on providing complete and understandable medical information, Dr. Treves promotes open communication in the physician-patient relationship while treating adult neurosurgical patients.
