He has worked extensivelyon many clinical trials, testing new medicines and helpingto standardize testing procedures internationally. His mostrecent research project involves a large multicenter studythat will lead to new clinical guidelines for gout treatment.Dr. Beary believes in listening to his patients to understandtheir concerns and needs. He encourages everyone tohelp themselves by practicing preventive medicine, andincorporating healthy habits into their everyday life.A retired Navy reservist, Dr. Beary also served as flightsurgeon and chief of flight medicine at Andrews AirForce Base. He and his wife have four children and eightgrandchildren. He supports the American Red Cross andthe Disabled American Veterans. Dr. Beary is also an aviationhistory buff and a former pilot.
