"Dr. Lichon did not talk to me and explained very little to me. I'm not even certain she knew my name.
I have had two appts. with her.
The first one she was running an hour late and in a hurry. I'm in there to get a biopsy to see if I have cancer. She did this procedure with very little explanation and she did not prepare me for how badly it would hurt. Pain management was never discussed with me. It was brutally painful. Apparently because I was in so much pain she snipped what she could and sent it in for the results. Came back inconclusive.
So now I get a call not from the doctor, but from a staff member that asks if I would like to come back in 3 months to get another pap smear or if I would like to go through this procedure again! Huh? We are trying to determine if I have cancer and this isn't an urgent situation? I've already had two pap smears come back positive for HPV! HPV can cause cancer and this is why we are doing this procedure! I'm supposed to wait 3 more ...months to find out if it miraculously goes away? (and it does sometimes in two years by itself, but if you find it, it can be treated with anti-biotics and these were never offered to me) I ask what the doctor would recommend and I was told those were my two options - BUT - If I come back for the procedure, they would provide valium to manage the pain.
Second appointment - Appt was scheduled for two weeks after my first procedure and then rescheduled for following week due to an important surgery. It is then rescheduled for later in the day because once again, an important surgery. I work FT but, apparently if I want this procedure I will adhere to whenever it's convenient for the Dr. even if that means changing the appt twice in matter of days. I'm told I need to have someone drive me so they can give me valium. So I take Uber to my appt. Running late again - I ask the receptionist for the valium when I arrive and she tells me she will check and never speaks to me again. I get into the room and ask the nurse, she says she'll have the doctor come in. When Dr. Lichon came in she never asked how I was feeling from last procedure . Nothing. No conversation. I was trying to schedule Uber to come pick me up after the appt and she told me great, you concentrate on that while I concentrate on this. She asked me to lay back etc. I once again ask about the valium and tell her I am still in pain and discharging from last procedure. She then tells me she's going to give me a shot to numb me and it may hurt a little but after that we're good. Huh? I get upset she tells me she's sorry but they would not have told me that and they don't administer valium. They would have given me a prescription to go pick up! So this is my misunderstanding? I take an Uber for no reason? So I get upset, she tells me she's sorry, I tell her she doesn't give a "s..." and she decides we're not doing the procedure that day, tells me a manager will come in to see me and to stay right there. I of course get dressed and leave. NOBODY tried to discuss with me. They didn't give a "s..." and apparently they don't make mistakes. Apparently the patient has clearly misunderstood. NOT
In my opinion this place is a meat market. They are just trying to get you in and out of there so they can do as many surgeries and procedures as possible in the two days they do them.
I believe Dr. Lichon has the worse bedside manner of any doctor I've had in my entire life and I'm 61. If she talked to any of you and empathized with you and explained anything to you, it certainly wasn't before or after a procedure when I'm sure she has her quota for the day. She never followed up after the first procedure as most doctors do (hell, I've had dentists follow up) She never asked how I was doing from last time and I'm pretty sure she didn't even said hi when she came into the room.
