"Do not see this doctor. I would not recommend Dr Phelps to my worse enemy, if I had one. I have several reasons to feel this way, of which I will be happy to share. He first misdiagnosed and then went on to botch a procedure terribly -that can never be fixed or reversed. I ONLY know this because I got a second opinion. He did not tell me he botched the procedure, let alone badly botched it. After this same procedure, my luck didn't change. I came down with a dangerous infection in my spine that I can only guess was possibly the result of a surgical site infection. He was slow to fully investigate my (post op) severe pain which started 6-10 days later. The pain was the most intense pain of my entire life for months on end. In TX you can not sue for malpractice after 2 years which I did not know. Had I known this before the deadline- I probably would have sued. If you are wise, you should heed my advice & find a better spine surgeon."
