Dr. Jeanwan Kang, MD

Jeanwan Kang, MD, is a vascular surgeon in the Department of Vascular Surgery in the Sydell and Arnold Miller Family Heart & Vascular Institute, practicing at Cleveland Clinic main campus and Fairview Hospital. She has a special interest in open and endovascular treatment of aortic, mesenteric, renal, carotid and peripheral vascular disease. Dr. Kang earned her medical degree from Harvard Medical School after earning a bachelors degree in biology from Massachusetts Institute of Technology. She completed her general surgery residency as well as vascular surgery fellowship at the Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston, Mass. She was appointed to the Cleveland Clinic staff in 2012 following completion of her fellowship. During her residency, Dr. Kang was also a Robert R Linton research fellow at the Massachusetts General Hospital involved in clinical research projects related to vascular surgery outcomes and basic science research projects on thoracic aortic ischemia (reduced blood flow) and reperfusion (restoration of blood flow). , she completed the Program in Clinical Effectiveness at the Harvard School of Public Health, a program geared towards developing young clinical investigators. Dr. Kang has been invited to present her work in various national and regional meetings, including the annual meeting for Society for Vascular Surgery plenary session. She has published a number of articles in peer-reviewed journals, including the Journal of Vascular Surgery and Journal of Surgical Research, has co-authored book chapters, and serves as a reviewer for a number of peer-reviewed journals.
