"I got a tooth extraction from James Schlesinger. He yanked my tooth so rough it shook my head and gave me vertigo 2 days after my extraction!! Never experienced anything like this nor have I had vertigo. Vertigo is caused from head injuries, car accidents and more serious injuries. Avoid this dentist "

"it’s been 3 days since I got my tooth pulled from James Schlesinger, I’m now suffering with severe BPPV. I’m 25 yrs old and never experienced BPPV untill after this dentist visit. Thanks to James Schlesinger for being so rough, rushed and careless! He was so rough when he pulled the tooth he shook my head so hard he messed with my ear drum witch caused me to get BPPV. Avoid this guy!!! I’ve got a tooth pulled before and was nothing like the experience I had with this guy, it was very intense and painful! I told him I can still feel it, and he said nothing and continued to pull my tooth. Dental care is way to serious and expensive to be going to a careless dentist who doesn’t care for his patients. "

"People need to be warned about this guy, seriously. When I came in for an extraction, Dr. Schlesinger and his team seemed to be in a big hurry. I got the impression they were trying to make up for lost time. He looked at my x-ray and said it would be “Easy-peasy.” I did warn him that I have TMJ Disorder and he just said, “Everyone your age does.” (Every 43 year old?!) Then he seemed to have trouble and kept mentioning the roots were pretty deep. He was rough, and a couple times I was wondering if a nearby tooth would be broken. I have had root canals before, and this was nothing like the calm manner of the endodontist who performed those. When he finished, he never told me anything had gone wrong. He just said I was done and began barking orders at his staff to hurry and get the room ready and see me out. My mouth bled for longer than expected and when I tried to use the prescribed mouthwash the way they said, it came out my nose like a fountain. I called the office and they arranged ...
for me to see someone else in the morning, who confirmed he had indeed drilled into my sinus cavity and made a fistula connecting my mouth, sinus, and nose. (It is over a month later and still healing). I was given a sheet of instructions by Dr. Schlesinger of special care for the next six weeks. About 9 days later the pain and mucus were increasing and I asked to be checked again for an infection. The assistant was about to take a dental x-ray but he told her not to. He had an attitude when he came in, like he couldn’t believe there could be a problem, as this was a simple issue. He pointed to my old x-ray up on the screen and to the deep roots and said this was going to happen anyways (perhaps, but he had said it would be “easy- Peasy”) and that he can’t believe I even noticed. (It’s very noticeable when mouthwash shoots out your nose though, and when you try to drink water and it sucks up into the tooth hole and your nose runs) and that it’ll heal itself as long as I don’t smoke. I asked why he gave me a list of instructions to follow if that were true. He kept contradicting himself and didn’t make any sense. His printed sheet says it often has complications in healing. I explained the sinus perforation seemed to be healing, but then pain increased and I wondered about an infection or dry socket. He said dry socket only happens to bad surgeons and he doesn’t get them. He said this. And that I’d KNOW if I had one and they are so very rare. I informed him I have had dry socket after wisdom teeth removal 28 years ago, and wasn’t sure that’s what it was until a routine recheck appointment. He then said it is over diagnosed. I said I had to go back daily, then every other day, then twice a week, then weekly - to change the packing. He then argued they shouldn’t have done that. This guy just wanted to argue! When he finally looked in my mouth, which STILL has a gaping hole in the side of the gums, he said I couldn’t have a dry socket because there’s “no socket” and it was healing fine. According to everything I read, it should not be throbbing and temperature sensitive on top of 3 ibuprofen and Tylenol, ten days afterwards. Then he thought I wanted pain meds. I declined. I just wanted to treat the actual issue. The icing on the cake was when he pointed at my OLD x-ray and said if there were an infection, we would see it and we don’t, do we? I said, “That’s the pre-extraction x ray. Not taken today. She was going to do one today and I heard you tell her not to.” He wrote me an antibiotic prescription (ok) and offered to see me again - um, no thanks!!! And I continued feeling like crap for a while, to the point that I had to put off writing this horrible review. If he had just said he was sorry and acted like he gave a damn, I’d not be doing any of this. He’s careless with people and customer service. I had put research into this issue and didn’t enjoy being treated like I’m stupid. "
