"My Mom took me to Dr Rotton several times during my youth. And EVERYTIME, the anesthetic would wear off before he was even finished working on me. He would give me a shot, leave me sitting there for 20-30 minutes waiting for it to kick in, then would come back and start working on me. It would start wearing off 10-15 minutes into the procedure. I was a kid, and I was taught not to question adults, so I never said anything. Looking back, I kick myself for that. Most dentists make a point of saying, "if you start feeling this, let me know, so I can give you more". I was just a kid. I never knew that was an option. He never once asked if I was in pain. These days, when I go to a dentist who knows what they're doing, I don't mind dental visits...but I always dreaded visits with him. It was a torture session! In case you're wondering, I've always been of average weight, so I don't know why he couldn't calculate the appropriate amount of anesthetic to use. It happened every visit!"
