"Great doctor. Glad I had the surgery on my shoulder. Great bedside manner and clear up any concerns I may have had. Definitely would trust him again. "

"I made an appointment with Peachtree Orthopedics to be seen for an elbow pain issue I was experiencing. I chose PT Orthopedics as one of their shoulder specialist doctors had previously performed rotator cuff surgery on my shoulder. After researching bios on their website, I chose a doctor that specializes in the area I was having an issue with. After waiting a week or so for my appointment, I received a call from the office the night before my appointment stating that that particular doctor did not accept coverage from my insurance provider and my appointment was changed to another doctor (James Kercher) in the practice. I immediately phoned the practice administrator, Lee Cothren, to not only complain about the last minute switch, but also that the doctor assigned didn’t appear to specialize in the area I was having an issue with. Mr. Cothren told me not to worry and assured me that Dr Kercher was a sports medicine physician and would do a great job; and in fact would be his choice ...
if he had the same issue. Sometime after arrival at the office I was escorted to an examination room when a PA entered and asked some basic questions regarding my issue. I was a little confused that the doctor wasn’t there, but I assumed he would fill in the doctor before he came in to examine me. When the PA returned he held a tray containing a cortisone shot which he administered followed by instructions for what actions were to be taken by me at home. When I asked about the doctor, he replied that the doctor was busy. That was it – see you later. That afternoon I sent Dr Kercher an email to discuss via the practice’s online portal. Again, the response came from a staffer, not from him. The response basically stated that he didn’t feel it necessary to see me. I immediately phoned the practice administrator who had referred me to Dr Kercher. His initial response was that of disbelief, and promised to call me back once he got to the bottom of the issue. I received no return call from Mr. Cothren, despite repeated follow up calls to him. A couple of weeks later I received an invoice from Peachtree Orthopedics for services rendered by “Dr Kercher”. I noted that my insurance company was also billed for services rendered by Kercher. Services which never occurred - he never even walked into the room. To this day I wouldn’t know him if I saw him. Imagine the arrogance of a person who decides if you’re worthy of his time based on the information given at intake, regardless of whether you have an appointment or not; then has the audacity to bill you for his time. Throughout my life I’ve found that if someone is dishonest in one thing, it typically carry through to other areas of their lives. While the PA I saw was totally ineffective, at the end of the day I’m glad I never saw this clown. If I were you I’d think twice before I let this guy work on me. Beware. "

Data Transparency and Trust: Understanding WebMD Doctor Listings and Reviews

We know that finding the right doctor or provider is important to your health. That’s why we want to ensure you have confidence in the provider profiles and listings you see on WebMD Care. Our provider data is sourced from the physicians themselves as well as publicly available databases. Any doctor or provider who claims their profile by verifying themselves can update their information and provide additional data on their specialties, education, accepted insurances, conditions they treat, and procedures they perform.

All the physician and provider reviews on WebMD Care are provided by users just like you. Knowing these reviews provide insight into how other patients feel about a doctor, we maintain internal policies and protocols to ensure the quality and accuracy of all reviews. Providers are not able to remove or modify reviews on their own. Reviews can only be removed after an internal review by our customer service team.

We value your input and encourage you to reach out to our support team if you encounter any issues.
