Dr. James Walter Ehlich, MD

James Ehlich Jr., MD, joined Lutheran Medical Group in January 2008 after practicing and serving as vice president and co-director of research at East Side Rheumatology, where he worked since 1988. He was also an investigator for Physician Research Group in Indianapolis. Dr. Ehlich received a bachelor's degree in microbiology from Michigan State University in East Lansing, Mich., and a medical degree from the St. Louis University School of Medicine. He completed an internship and residency in internal medicine at The Jewish Hospital of St. Louis, Washington University Medical Center, and a rheumatology fellowship at Indiana University Medical Center in Indianapolis. Dr. Ehlich, who is board certified in rheumatology and internal medicine, has authored numerous papers on osteoarthritis and has received research grants to study the effects of painkillers on rheumatoid and osteoarthritis.
