"Dr. Cooper was a truly outstanding human being. If he had not not discovered and developed his surgical technique for neuromuscular disorders or if he had caved to to the insane and cruel opposition from so many leaders in the American neuroscience community, I'd be long dead or institutionalized. Instead, I am happily leading a highly productive life as a lawyer and a student of history. From the moment I met him at the age of 13, I knew he was maverick. He walked up to me, sat down beside me and, showing an intense interest in me, began talking to me about the surgery as if I were his partner. In the middle of the operation, I asked him if he was "in the thalamus yet." He said I was the first to ask him that. The last time I saw him was in his office. He had his feet on the desk. He had a hole in his surgical pants, showing his boxer shorts. lol. At one point he mentioned that he'd soon go to a conference in Washington DC. When he said this, he had a slight impish look on his face, his eyes darted upwards and I think he stuck his tongue in his cheek. My Mother started laughing and ask him if he was going to operate on the president. (News had just come out that President LBJ - this was in 1967 - had previously had a gall bladder operation in secret.) Dr. Cooper gave me a life. But the greatest gift he gave me was the gift of a positive attitude. I only wish I had thanked him... "

Data Transparency and Trust: Understanding WebMD Doctor Listings and Reviews

We know that finding the right doctor or provider is important to your health. That’s why we want to ensure you have confidence in the provider profiles and listings you see on WebMD Care. Our provider data is sourced from the physicians themselves as well as publicly available databases. Any doctor or provider who claims their profile by verifying themselves can update their information and provide additional data on their specialties, education, accepted insurances, conditions they treat, and procedures they perform.

All the physician and provider reviews on WebMD Care are provided by users just like you. Knowing these reviews provide insight into how other patients feel about a doctor, we maintain internal policies and protocols to ensure the quality and accuracy of all reviews. Providers are not able to remove or modify reviews on their own. Reviews can only be removed after an internal review by our customer service team.

We value your input and encourage you to reach out to our support team if you encounter any issues.
