"My overall visit was terrible. I was acknowledged by ONE person when I first walked in, which was by the ONE other Black woman, to include myself, in the building. Following this, Rosa, the lady who does the distance testing, green dot, etc, did not introduce herself, and then almost charged me for something extra (which was halted once she told me it cost extra $$ which was almost too late). Following this, the OPTOMETRIST Humberto Villafana did NOT introduce himself at all, did not pay attention to me (he asked me if I was wearing contacts twice and I had glasses on my face…) and was just extremely dismissive of the problems I was having with my eyesight. Also, I’ve been to more than enough eye doctors, and I thought it was odd that he only tested my vision with the different lens 3 times in each eye to differentiate my eye sight. The process seemed rush, and I’m honestly debating about getting a second opinion. The icing on top of the cake was being told I had a fee upfront without ...
being asked if I had insurance, while the whites woman behind me was asked directly and upfront “DO YOU HAVE EYE INSURANCE?” Once I said I have insurance and that my copay should only be $10, because I called two days earlier to confirm, she proceeded to say that she didn’t think we were working with insurance today. Interesting. I wonder why that was automatically assumed for me unlike the white woman. Overall, I will NEVER return to this location and probably never an Americas Best again. "
