"Dr Bell has horrible bedside manner. He routinely implies that I don’t have arthritis and also once randomly tried to tell me he thinks I have sleep apnea based on my red blood cell count? He refused to prescribe my old medicine that my last rheumatologist had given me, but lied in his note said that he was going to continue it. I found that out from my family doctor when i told them about my troubles with Dr Bell. I was out of my medicine for 3 months before I could get him to give me anything, and at this point he was still convinced that I did not have arthritis. I kept telling him that I could barely move my hands and he continued to not prescribe me anything. I’m not sure what his rationale for any of this was, but he does not listen to his patients. I would never recommend this doctor to anyone "

"Wish I could give less than 1 star. His bedside manner is abysmal. He never physically examined me. On my first visit I overheard him talking about how there was nothing wrong with me before he even came in the room. He tried to have me start immunosuppressive meds in the middle of a pandemic without a formal diagnosis of anything! "

"My previous doctor was Dr Thomas. When I called to make a follow up appointment I was informed “she had left the network. “I hadn’t received any information regarding her leaving and I would need to find another MD. I was pretty bummed because she was the first Rheumatologist I had found who actually listened. So I looked around and looked around and I found Dr. Bell. I called his office three times over three weeks with out a call back. I called his nurse and after a week she called back to say “ There are other Doctors in Dr Thomas’s practice. I said I know but felt more comfortable with Dr Bell. I was told “ we will have to call you back. Two more weeks go by no call back. I called again left a message for the nurse and the next day received a call . After I told Dr Thomas I hadn’t slept for more than two hours in a row in more than a month a night due to neck , shoulder and back pain she asked me about pain meds“ I told her I didn’t really want pain meds and I don’t want to start down a slippery slope.” She talked to me about tramadol which is a light weight anti inflammatory based pain med. I reluctantly agreed . I was finally able to sleep taking one at bedtime. I felt like my sanity might be salvageable. Then she’s gone. Dr Bells office finally calls back and they tell me “ Dr Bell doesn’t prescribe Tramadol. If you can get your family practice doctor to cover that he can see you. I immediately felt like a drug addict or something. Thanks guys . I mean no rationale, no rhyme nor reason....I take Humaria weekly for my autoimmune disease and need help . It is very difficult to find decent help these days in Rheumatological care. "

Data Transparency and Trust: Understanding WebMD Doctor Listings and Reviews

We know that finding the right doctor or provider is important to your health. That’s why we want to ensure you have confidence in the provider profiles and listings you see on WebMD Care. Our provider data is sourced from the physicians themselves as well as publicly available databases. Any doctor or provider who claims their profile by verifying themselves can update their information and provide additional data on their specialties, education, accepted insurances, conditions they treat, and procedures they perform.

All the physician and provider reviews on WebMD Care are provided by users just like you. Knowing these reviews provide insight into how other patients feel about a doctor, we maintain internal policies and protocols to ensure the quality and accuracy of all reviews. Providers are not able to remove or modify reviews on their own. Reviews can only be removed after an internal review by our customer service team.

We value your input and encourage you to reach out to our support team if you encounter any issues.
