Dr. Gina McCray
Dr. Gina McCray is a native of Southern Maryland and has been practicing general dentistry since 1987. She performs all aspects of family dental care and her special interests include periodontal therapy, cosmetic and implant dentistry, as well as children's dental care.
Dr. McCray is a Magna Cum Laude graduate of the University of Maryland Dental School, in Baltimore. She is a member of both scholastic and prosthodontic honor societies and has also been awarded the Nathan David Gold Award for "Conscientious and Enthusiastic Dedication to Clinical Practice".   Dr. McCray is a Member of the American Dental Association, the Maryland State Dental Association, the Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, and the Crown Council. Dr. McCray is devoted to patient education and preventive dental care for good long term dental health. It is her philosophy that to be able to address the patient's needs and develop a superior long term result, the dentist must be able to take …the time to be a good listener and give the patient the personal attention they deserve. In addition, Dr. McCray continually investigates the latest techniques available in modern dentistry.
Dr. McCray was raised in Southern Anne Arundel County where her father and family retired after 23 years in the Air Force. Dr. McCray has maintained her general dentistry practice in Mechanicsville since 1994. Her hobbies include family activities, racquetball, gardening, cooking, photography, theater and traveling. She currently resides in Huntingtown with her husband, Milton, and her twin daughters, Audrey and Kara.
Dottie Bellerose, R.D.H.(Registered Dental Hygienist) was born in Washington D.C. and spent her formative years growing up in Temple Hills, MD. She graduated from Potomac Senior High in 1975 and received her Bachelors of Science Degree in dental hygiene in 1979 from the University of Maryland Dental School (the first dental school in the world.) She received the Alpha Omega Award for exemplifying the qualities of humanitarianism, ethical standards, and devotion to the profession. Dottie believes that prevention and patient education are two of the keys ingredients to successful periodontal therapy. She continues to further her education by taking courses in the treatment of various types of periodontal diseases as well as managing periodontal diseases in diabetically compromised patients. In addition, Dottie is dental radiology licensed and infection control and CPR certified. Dottie’s hobbies include swimming, reading, and watersports at the beach. She cherishes the time she spends with her family in LaPlata, Maryland where she resides. She is very involved with her church and believes that her faith gives her an added ability to help patients feel comfortable with the dentistry they deserve. It is not uncommon to hear Dottie’s contagious laugh resonate throughout the office and put everyone in such an uplifted spirit!
Carol Thorp, R.D.H.(Registered Dental Hygienist) was born in Pennsylvania and raised in New Jersey. She received her Bachelors of Science Degree in dental hygiene from Old Dominion University in 1983. She has extensive experience working with periodontal patients and is excellent at communicating the importance of home periodontal maintenance to the patients’ overall health. Carol has special interests in periodontal treatment of patients with systemic illnesses like diabetes and cardiovascular diseases. Carol is a great listener and her compassionate and caring demeanor gives her the unique ability to provide excellent quality care in a pain free environment. For the last seven years Carol has resided in Port Republic with her husband and two children. She enjoys traveling, skiing, biking, scuba diving, and cross-stitch. She is very involved with her church as well as her children’s PTA organizations. You will be amazed at the wonderful difference she will make in your smile!
