"I've been dealing with issues coming to this place now for nearly 3 months. I still have no diagnosis for my condition and Dr. Shakir can basically care less. This guy has been seriously the worst to deal with. I've had to force him to do ANYTHING and EVERYTHING. He is probably the least caring doctor that I've ever dealt with in my life. His answer to everything is "sensitive nerves". If you want to be ignored as a patient, this is probably a great office to visit. "

"I've been a patient of this clinic for 20 yrs, for Gerd. I get an endoscopy every 4 yrs on average due for severe Gerd to check for possible esophagus damage from the acid, as a precaution to catch problems early, just like people do with having colonoscopy's. Today I saw Dr. Shakir for first time since my long time gastrologist retired. Dr. Shakir could not have been more rude & condescending, he made me feel so uncomfortable as he talked down & questioned me as to why I'm having another endoscopy. His bedside manner & timing is unprofessional at best. He must have realized how he sounded since he apologized a few times for his tone just before he put me to sleep. Alta View is always my first choice in medical care for myself & family, The hospital itself & staff are the best in SLC. I've been seeing my Doctors at Alta View for over 30 yrs. But I will not be a patient of this gastroenterology clinic again. I don't recommend Dr. Shakir & his condescending personality & attitude. ...
