OVERVIEW

I am a medical oncologist who specializes in treating women with breast cancer. In particular, I specialize in treating patients who are 70 years and older. Senior citizens with breast cancer face unique challenges. Pre-existing health conditions could complicate cancer treatments, but each patient, regardless of age, must be evaluated and treated based on her individual preference. I launched the Senior Adult Breast Cancer Clinic specifically to treat senior adults who have been diagnosed with breast cancer. My research focuses on the design of new experimental therapeutics and neoadjuvant therapies, such as new chemotherapy, radiation or hormone therapies. Over the course of my career, I have conducted numerous clinical trials, including one designed to target breast cancer stem cell markers in women with stage two and three breast cancer. I am a member of a National Comprehensive Cancer Network panel that specializes in developing guidelines for treating cancer patients who …are 70 years and older. I am also a member of the Cancer in the Elderly committee of the Alliance for Clinical Trials in Oncology, a national clinical trials network sponsored by the National Cancer Institute.

"Cancer and our medical complex are hard enough to navigate without the effects of someone as unhelpful as Ewa Mrozek. She adds complexity that isn't there and fails to answer questions. I could have stayed home and learned more on the internet. Also, she seems to lack social skills; once she decides she is done answering questions she will hang up over the phone or walk out in-person. "

"Dr.Mrozek was both my doctor and my sister's My sister was diagnosed with 4th stage pancreatic in May of 2020. From day one she appreciated Dr Mrozek's matter- of -fact yet compassionate manner . I credit her with my sister being with us as long as she was and so did my sister. She died in Feb 2022. When I was diagnosed with breast cancer in October of 2020, I of course chose Dr Mrozek as my oncologist after my surgery. I valued her professional advice and she continued with my followups until she left the practice in Lima, Ohio. Sometimes I did have to wait but never minded because I know the time she spent with my sister and her other patients. In my opinion, she was worth the wait. I would highly recommend her to anyone facing cancer treatment."
