Dr. Eugene Storozynsky, MD

Dr. Storozynsky is originally from Cleveland, OH where he completed high school at St. Ignatius High School. He attended the University of Rochester, where he majored in Biochemistry and minored in English Literature. During his college years, he studied abroad at University College in Oxford, England studying Biochemistry. , he was involved in immunology research, specifically studying cryoglobulinemia with Dr. George Abraham and the pluri-potential of CD34+ stem cells in the Bone Marrow Transplant Unit with Dr. John DiPersio. He was a varsity swimmer and earned a 'Blues' in Volleyball at Oxford University. After graduating from the University of Rochester in 1990, he returned to England to spend a year at the John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford working in the area of transplant immunology with Professor Jonathan Austyn and than traveled to Rockefeller University in New York City in 1991 to study antigen presentation and dendritic cells under the tutelage of Dr. Ralph Steinman. …Upon completion of this work, he returned to the University of Rochester in 1992 and enrolled in the MD/PhD program and completed a PhD in Microbiology/Immunology in 1998 studying antigen presentation in a murine tumor model under the guidance of Drs. Edith Lord and John Frelinger. After obtaining his MD in 2000, he completed his Internal Medicine residency in the Strong Memorial Hospital categorical program in 2003 followed by completion of a Fellowship in Cardiovascular Diseases in 2006. Currently, he is an Assistant Professor of Medicine in the Heart Failure/Heart Transplantation Program at the University of Rochester.
