Patients' Perspective

"During my appointment at Northeast Obgyn’s Boerne location, Dr. Elizabeth Brackett made some unprofessional remarks I found hurtful. She asked me “have you ever thought of getting a breast reduction?” I never brought up wanting any kind of plastic surgery.
Furthermore, it was awkward for me scooting forward on the exam table when wearing one of those backless robes, and she then said, “this must be a workout for you.” While her remarks were subtle, I found them demeaning. I left the appointment with my self-esteem much lower.
I’ve tolerated both direct and indirect rude comments about my body for most of my life, but I never thought I would have to tolerate them from a doctor – someone who is supposed to help people. I will not return to that practice. A call to practice management regarding Dr. Brackett’s remarks was not immediately returned."
