OVERVIEW
Dr. Eddie Whitehead is a board-certified Internal Medicine physician who recently joined DeKalb Medical Physicians Group Winn Way Internal Medicine. Prior to joining, he served as the CEO and Medical Director for Georgia Internal Medicine Care Associates, P.C. for 20 years.
Dr. Whitehead received his undergraduate degree from Valdosta State College (now Valdosta State University) in 1976 and went on to receive his medical degree from Meharry Medical College in Nashville, Tennessee. He has been the recipient of numerous awards throughout his medical career, including receiving the Resident of the Year award at Evanston Hospital in Evanston, Illinois. Dr. Whitehead served on the Board of Directors for the DeKalb Physician Hospital Organization from 2006-2008 and was Chief of Medicine for DeKalb Medical at Hillandale from 2007-2009. He is also an active member of the 100 Black Men of America, Inc., Atlanta, Georgia Chapter.
