Facilities and Equipment Digital X-rays For the past 50 plus years, film based x-rays have been used in dentistry. Every so often a change in the film allowed a decrease of radiation to the patient. Recently, digital x-ray equipment was developed that dramatically reduced radiation with superior x-ray image quality, while revealing more information of the teeth and jaws. In the fall of 2007, our office converted to the digital radiography. Now, extremely low radiation dose x-rays are taken with x-ray images in seconds. These are viewed immediately. Laser Dentistry Many lasers are available in dentistry. They are categorized by tissue for which they are intended to be used. Hard tissue lasers are intended for use on the teeth. Soft tissue lasers are intended for use on the gums. Currently, soft tissue lasers are the most effective. This type of laser has been very effective in treating gum disease and correcting other minor problems such as canker sores and cold sores. Comparatively, hard tissue lasers are not working as effective on the teeth. As development proceeds, these lasers" in the future may replace the drill. Using minimally invasive techniques, the typical dental drill does not require anesthetic in many situations, and is more accurate than the hard tissue lasers of today.

Data Transparency and Trust: Understanding WebMD Doctor Listings and Reviews

We know that finding the right doctor or provider is important to your health. That’s why we want to ensure you have confidence in the provider profiles and listings you see on WebMD Care. Our provider data is sourced from the physicians themselves as well as publicly available databases. Any doctor or provider who claims their profile by verifying themselves can update their information and provide additional data on their specialties, education, accepted insurances, conditions they treat, and procedures they perform.

All the physician and provider reviews on WebMD Care are provided by users just like you. Knowing these reviews provide insight into how other patients feel about a doctor, we maintain internal policies and protocols to ensure the quality and accuracy of all reviews. Providers are not able to remove or modify reviews on their own. Reviews can only be removed after an internal review by our customer service team.

We value your input and encourage you to reach out to our support team if you encounter any issues.
