Devaraju Kanmaniraja, MD, is an Attending Radiologist at Montefiore and an Assistant Professor of Radiology at our Albert Einstein College of Medicine. Since joining the Montefiore team in 2018, his clinical focus has been on hepatobiliary and liver transplants, inflammatory bowel disease, and prostate imaging. In 2001, Dr. Kanmaniraja received his Doctor of Medicine from Rajah Muthiah Medical College, Annamalainagar, India. He then moved to New York to begin his postgraduate training with an internship in Internal Medicine at The Brooklyn Hospital Center, which he completed in 2005. Following this, in 2005, he began a 4-year residency in Radiology at the Bronx-Lebanon Hospital Center. In 2011, Dr. Kanmaniraja also completed a fellowship in Abdominal Imaging at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation. Expanding his clinical interests, Dr. Kanmaniraja?s research focuses on imaging of the pelvic floor and prostate. He has been a part of numerous clinical research projects and his work has been published in many peer-reviewed journals, books, review articles, and abstracts. He has also been an invited guest speaker to numerous extramural presentations. In 2014, Dr. Kanmaniraja received the Caregiver Celebration Award from the Cleveland Clinic. This award was given to him for providing outstanding patient care while performing a challenging biopsy. In 2017, he received the Exemplary Teacher of the Year award given to him by the University of Florida College of Medicine. Dr. Kanmaniraja is board certified by the American Board of Radiology in Diagnostic Radiology. He is also a member of multiple professional societies, including the American Board of Radiology, the International Society for Magnetic Resonance in Medicine and the Society of Abdominal Radiology.
