"In my experience she’s unprofessional, unethical, and dishonest. She’s supposed to b a trauma specialist, but she caused far more trauma symptoms, and healed none. There r many good therapist in Northampton, she is not one of them. She is also unsupervised, which allows for her terrible behavior to go unchecked. "

"She spent 25 minutes on the phone with me as a potential client and asked for some pretty painful details about the abuse I went through. It was a difficult experience for me - I ended up not sleeping that night, crying off and on for the next 24 hours, and needing to take a little time off work. Dr. Gelinas told me she would get back to me in a few days after checking my insurance. But I never heard back from her again, even after I followed up 4 days later with a voicemail confirming insurance coverage.
In explaining her process to me, Dr. Gelinas seems to expect clients to be VERY vulnerable in her initial sessions. If she pushes for that, I think it's only ethical and fair that she commits to treating clients with compassion, dignity, and professionalism. That professionalism includes returning calls when she says she will, even if it's to refer to another provider, rather than disappearing on trauma survivors who put their trust in her"
