"On Oct. 11, 2022, my dentist detected a cavity in one of my wisdom teeth, referring me to Florida Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery. I immediately scheduled an appointment yet was informed that a pre-surgical consultation would have to take place first. On Nov. 7, 2022, I was subject to a so-called pre-surgical consultation. During that so-called pre-surgical consultation, for which my dental insurance was billed, I scheduled the removal of the wisdom tooth for the morning of Nov. 14, 2022. Just before the procedure, the same surgeon as had conducted the pre-surgical consultation opined that my heart rate was too low for her to go forward with the surgery. I explained that my historically low heart rate had prevented other surgeons from administering anesthesia in the past, 2 within the last 12 months or so. The nurse there disclosed that equipment used to monitor vital signs were not working properly. What's even stranger is that they escorted me out through the fire exit to the car lot.On ...
