"Great surgeon, terrible doctor. Did amazing work on my ankle, but got nothing but push back on any request for meds or recovery devices (something other than crutches). Wait times at either location he works at are insane I had waiting of 40-90 minutes. They also try to extract the most money out of you by having you sign waivers to pay full prices for medical devices that don't allow the insurance to negotiate prices, and leave you with any remainder that insurance doesn't cover since they charge insane prices. It was $441 for a POS boot that the straps were terrible on and started falling apart weeks before I could take it off."

"I have spent a life in professional sports surrounded by high caliber doctors. Dr hoopes completely botched two consecutive surgeries with my Achilles. He swindled my wife and I into trusting him. We got a second opinion AFTER our second surgery w him, and the doctor was appalled by the sloppy, unprofessional work and procedures. I have surgery #4 coming bc of his mishaps that another doc is correcting. On top of that- hoopes said “it’s not about the money”.. yet, continued to charge us for the surgeries that didn’t work bc of his incompetence and greedy nature. I wouldn’t take my worst enemy to this guy. Any doc that says “it’s not about the money” has one thing on his mind. Don’t trust this guy. I have to have Achilles reconstruction bc of him- and I’ll be lucky if I can throw a football with my children. "

"Very unprofessional! 1st - He had to cancel my surgery after it was rescheduled to later in the day and then decided he couldn't do the surgery at all because he had to "be somewhere". He never called me to tell me it was canceled. I had to call the hospital to find out what was going on. I came from layton to provo for surgery which is an hour away and he never operated on me. 2nd - I was having a follow up appt to get the cast off and he cancels on me again only 2 hrs before my appt! Both times I came from an hour away to see him and they both fell through. He never called to apologize either! He doesn't care if his patients are put out just as long as things go HIS way. Also, wait times are ludicrous. Go somewhere else."
