"Dr. Scavo cared more about discussing her daughter and playing Wordle than doing her job. On numerous occasions I would just stop talking knowing I did not have her attention because her attention was focused on her apple watch and phone. I can surely tell you all the places her daughter applied to for college but I cannot say that she helped me any during therapy. Would not recommend. "

"If you are considering working with doctor scavo, PLEASE run far away. She really isn’t a very good therapist. She spends half of sessions talking about her daughter: for example, on many separate sessions, instead of helping me, she chose to talk about a band trip her daughter was making, how her daughter had an injury, how her daughter was visiting colleges to try to decide her school, she would show pictures on her phone of daughter and things she making for her daughter. I never asked once about any of that, she brought up her daughter constantly. As sessions went on with her she cared less and less and focused less and less on her clients in session. When she thinks you’re looking down or playing with a fidget, she’s texting on her phone and you can see her scrolling through her Apple Watch, she’s also has chat screens open on her laptop with other people during sessions and types with them. You will never have her full attention. So many times I’ve said things and she didn’t even ...
realize it because she was texting. She provided less and less support. She knew was ineffective as therapist (as per her own words) months ago but chose to today to tell me that, so for months she knew she was ineffective but thought it was ethical to not tell me and to continue to charge and collect $272 from me per a session. She will not be there if you reach out in crisis, she hasn’t been for once for me (I’ve been with her 4 years). And if she does respond to you outside of office hours, even if it’s an emergency, she’ll text back things “I’m texting you when I should be spending time with my family”. She’s really not a good therapist and she’s made me question myself in a bad way multiple times. I really would not recommend this therapist if you’re looking for an ACTUAL ptsd/trauma specialist. Scavo claims to be but all she did was give me worksheets about hard emotions (I’m in my late 20s, I don’t need all these dumb handouts I can find for free online). She tell you need therapy more than you do, so she can collect more. Please please stay Away from her. She really takes advantage of the vulnerable patients she works with. Please stay away from her!! "
