OVERVIEW
Clarence Brown III, MD, is the president and CEO of M. D. Anderson Cancer Center Orlando, a part of Orlando Health. Board certified in internal medicine and hematology, Dr. Brown has been an integral part of Orlando Health since 1975.
He received his medical degree (summa cum laude) from Emory School of Medicine in Atlanta and continued his studies at the Johns Hopkins Hospital and the National Cancer Institute. Before moving to Orlando, Dr. Brown was a faculty member of the Baylor College of Medicine in Houston.
Dr. Brown has served as president of the Orange County Medical Society and has been a member of the board of directors of the Orlando Health Foundation, American Cancer Society (ACS) and Florida Cancer Control and Research Advisory Council. Currently, he is a delegate to the ACS National Assembly.
He has published numerous articles from his studies on blood platelets, bone marrow growth factors and various cancers. Dr. Brown has been the recipient of a number of …awards including the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society’s "Man of the Year." In addition, he has been chosen as one of the Best Doctors in America by Woodward White publishing, named a distinguished physician by Orlando Regional Medical Center and listed in Orlando Business Journal’s "Who’s Who in Health Care."
Dr. Brown serves as an adjunct professor of medicine at The University of Texas M. D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston and as a professor of medicine at the University of Central Florida’s College of Medicine.
