"Rancont is the reason patients don’t go to the doctors. He is the reason patients try to handle their problems at home. Bedside manner zero. Doesn’t listen to patients. I’d rather be left on the ground then to ever go to an ER that has Rancont as a doctor. Was taken to the ER after having chest pain, back pain, my face, legs, and arms when numb I couldn’t move them. After being yelled at in the ambulance for not being able to push on the paramedics hands with me and not being able to squeeze her hands with mine, I had to deal with this “Doctor.” The paramedics told him I don’t follow instructions and was making up symptoms. The nurse I dealt with had more compassion and willingness to help me. Rancont finally decided to come in and see me. Told me I made up a circus of symptoms. Then badgered me about what my family doctor diagnosed me with. Every time I said nothing he called me a liar and wanted to know what I have been diagnosed with. Then wanted to know what drugs I do on a daily basis. ...
After being in the ER for 7 hours he told me to take my anxiety meds like I’m supposed to. I’m not anxiety meds. He also told me I’m only allowed to breathe every 6-10 seconds. I have to hold my breath and count to 6 or 10 before I can breathe again. My nurse said he didn’t agree with Rancont discharging me but because he is not the doctor he can’t keep me. I’m still in pain, still having the same symptoms and he won’t do anything. "

"I saw Dr. Rancont in September, 2021 - an emergency room visit. I was suffering from severe lower back pain and critical shortness of breath. The pain was overwhelming! Dr. Rancont basically dismissed my symptoms and said I had muscle tightness. He ordered a shot of Toradol and a muscle relaxer. No effect! He then told me to go home and lie flat on my back and to go for PT the next day. He did NOT even listen to my lungs!! Repeat, did NOT even listen to my lungs!! Well, a couple days later, after suffering terribly at home, I went to a walk-in clinic and was immediately sent to the hospital for a chest xray. Then CT scan. Turns out I had pneumonia, and a bad case of it. Further investigation showed that I also had a saddle clot, pulmonary embolism as long as a "a short snake" descending into both lungs. As this is life-threatening, I was rushed to U of M hospital and was treated there, which included a three-day stay. As of today, I am still on a blood-thinner and have had ...
three follow-up lung CT scans. The CT's also revealed a nodule in my left lung, which is being observed with regular CT scans in Ann Arbor. This was almost a life-ending episode!! Dr. Rancont was dismissive, cold and showed no empathy or concern that it might be something bad, which it was. Imagine if I would have layed flat on my back and then gotten physical therapy; probably would have killed me! I will NEVER see this doctor again, and I express caution to anyone who might contemplate seeing him Thank you. "
