Dr. Chik Amechi, MD

Chik Amechi, MD, became the first OB/GYN specialist to join St. Joseph Medical Group when he joined in August 2010. Prior to joining SJMG, he worked at Allen County OB/GYN Associates, a practice he started in June 1992. Dr. Amechi graduated cum laude with a bachelor's degree in biology from Central Michigan University in Mount Pleasant, Mich., in 1974. He earned a medical degree from Wayne State University School of Medicine in Detroit in 1979, and he completed an internship and residency in obstetrics and gynecology at Providence Hospital in Southfield, Mich. Dr. Amechi is board certified by the American Board of Obstetricians and Gynecologists and is a fellow of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology. He is member of the American Medical Association, the American Society of Reproductive Medicine, the American Association of Gynecologic Laparoscopists and the Society for Laparoendoscopic Surgeons.
