Brian M. Ralston, M.D., is a board certified family physician who has been serving the MacNeal community since 1994. As a full-time primary care doctor, he sees patients of all ages, and treats a broad variety of medical conditions. He has a special interests in musculoskeletal / sports medicine and in computers in medicine.
A native of Virginia, Dr. Ralston received his undergraduate degree from MIT, attended medical school at the University of Virginia, and completed a residency in family practice at the University of Wisconsin, Madison. He did additional training in sports medicine at MacNeal Hospital.
Dr. Ralston is active in teaching medical students and residents. He is a Clinical Assistant Professor of Medicine at the University of Chicago, and a faculty member of the MacNeal Family Practice Residency Program. Dr. Ralston lectures and has published in the areas of primary care medicine, medical informatics, and sports medicine. He is a co-author of two books, The Caveman's …Pregnancy Companion and The Caveman's Guide To Baby's First Year
Dr. Ralston participates in charity work, volunteering as a teaching faculty at a free medical clinic in Chicago, and also working with a group of physicians who go each year to Honduras to provide medical care to underserved people.
