"Went to Dr for cataract removal with minimal improvement. Still have to wear glasses. You should get a 2nd opinion before letting him touch you. He is self-absorbed and condescending. "

"Wonderful Doctor and staff. Very kind and helpful. I am in a wheelchair so I need extra help and I always receive the best care at their office. "

"Fast talking impersonal jerk who made jokes that my child is blind as a bat. Could have cared less for my child and the issues she has. Cold as ice and seemingly joked about my Childs serious condition. Tried to ask questions and he was so short and you could tell he just wanted my family out of there so he could get his next client in to keep the money flowing. I know a lot of great doctors and he is not one of them. Terrible bedside manner. Never again"

"Dr. Brent carmack should not be working with children. He yanked my 2 year olds arm out of frustration, yelled at us and walked out of our appointment. My 2 year old has been saying since our appointment that he's scared of Dr. Gold. I'm still in disbelief. His administrator, Tiffany, said it was because he had a bad day."

"This group is not advanced in medical technology. In Oct 2022, I discovered I needed cataract surgery. However, decades ago I had vision corrective surgery so to avoid the use of glasses post cataract I need a lens called LAL. Dr Brent carmack said all he could offer was the basic cataract lens & I would need glasses for near & far distances. He never offered the LAL lens. So I asked questions about this & he said they do not have this lens! What?!! I thought St Luke's Institute was the most technologically advanced group in the area. NO. BTW, the LAL lens was approved back in 2019. I paid my copay yet I received a bill from them for $50. more. I called them to resolve this since they are not able to provide the medical care I need & it's been 3 weeks with no resolution."

"This Doc advised my mother that after surgery, and for thousands of dollars, she would see better with zero assistance. This never fact her vision was worse after the procedure. She said 'I felt like I was a lab rat.' Super sad. I would not buy a pair of cheaters from this entity."

"I would highly recommend avoiding Dr.Carmack at all cost he's completely unqualified and doesn't have the slightest idea of how to help people like myself who have legitimate medical problems!"
  • January 30, 2023
"Dr. Carmack is a complete and utter incompetent. I saw him for dry eye and he told me that I was fine, and then when I went back two weeks later, he basically told me the same thing, but with an "I'm sorry" thrown in. I went back again and again, and finally had to tell him that he should have been able to diagnose my problem right away, since he clearly wasn't listening to me or doing any research on his own."

"Went to Carmack to remove Cataracts and improve near and far vision. Far corrected to 20/25, still can not see near without strong lite. He did not correct Cataracts and had to do laser surgery in his office (another $800). STRONGLY suggest you find a second option."

"Went to Carmack for cataract removal. Opted for the lens to correct both far and nearsightedness and was told would not have to wear glasses. Corrected far vision to 25/20, near vision not corrected at all. All of the cataracts were not removed and had to complete via laser in his office. (++++ $$$). Julie is rude and cannot keep appointments straight. Lee is the only asset in the office. Strongly suggest getting a second opinion. "

Data Transparency and Trust: Understanding WebMD Doctor Listings and Reviews

We know that finding the right doctor or provider is important to your health. That’s why we want to ensure you have confidence in the provider profiles and listings you see on WebMD Care. Our provider data is sourced from the physicians themselves as well as publicly available databases. Any doctor or provider who claims their profile by verifying themselves can update their information and provide additional data on their specialties, education, accepted insurances, conditions they treat, and procedures they perform.

All the physician and provider reviews on WebMD Care are provided by users just like you. Knowing these reviews provide insight into how other patients feel about a doctor, we maintain internal policies and protocols to ensure the quality and accuracy of all reviews. Providers are not able to remove or modify reviews on their own. Reviews can only be removed after an internal review by our customer service team.

We value your input and encourage you to reach out to our support team if you encounter any issues.
