Arvind Y. Krishna, MD, FACP, FACE, CCD, is board certified in Endocrinology, Diabetes, and Metabolism. After earning his medical degree in New Delhi, India in 1984 at one of the top medical colleges also, completing an internship and residency in internal medicine there, Dr. Krishna moved to the U.S. In 1993, he completed an additional internship and residency at Lincoln Hospital, in affiliation with New York Medical College in New York City.
Following his residency, Dr. Krishna was chosen for fellowship training in Endocrinology, Diabetes, and Metabolism at the prestigious Emory University School of Medicine in Atlanta, Georgia. During his over two-year fellowship, he trained at Emory University Hospital, Grady Memorial Hospital, Atlanta’s VA Medical Center, and the endocrine and diabetes clinics of Egleston Children’s Hospital.
Respected in the Community
After completing his fellowship, Dr. Krishna moved to Canton, Ohio to join the staff of Diabetes and Endocrinology …Associates of Stark County in 1995. Since then he has become well-known and highly respected within the Canton medical community. He has been part of the medical faculty at Northeast Ohio Medical University since 1996, where he is now an Associate Professor of Internal Medicine. He also serves as the director of endocrine sub-specialty clinical rotations for medical students in Canton hospitals, and he has received several awards of excellence from the Canton Medical Education Foundation for his teaching and mentoring of medical residents.
As an expert in diabetes, endocrinology, and metabolism, Dr. Krishna has given many lectures and presentations to both his peers and the public in various cities throughout Ohio. He has twice been a featured guest speaker on the Health Matters radio programs on 1480 WHBC in Canton, and he has been interviewed for articles published in Canton and Alliance newspapers.
Dr. Krishna is also known among his endocrinology peers state- and nationwide. He has published numerous articles and studies in national and international peer-reviewed medical journals, as well as given presentations at state and national endocrine meetings. He has also earned the distinction of fellow of the American College of Physicians (FACP) and fellow of the American College of Endocrinology (FACE).
Advanced Training
To better serve his patients, Dr. Krishna has pursued advanced training and certifications within his field:
Certified by the American Association of Clinical Endocrinologists, Dr. Krishna has performed well over 1,000 in-office ultrasound-guided biopsies of thyroid nodules.
He is also among a select group of endocrinologists who are trained and credentialed to perform radioactive iodine treatment for hyperthyroidism and thyroid cancer.
Dr. Krishna has also been a Certified Clinical Densitometrist (CCD™®), a professional designation awarded by the International Society of Clinical Densitometry for those qualified to administer bone density testing for osteoporosis.
