"When Dr. Sadeghi came into the dental area he said very little. He had two young male assistants who leaned over me and basically explained what he (Dr Sadeghi) was doing. Throughout the extraction procedure the pain was terrible. When I first pushed him away during the procedure and told him it was too painful, he reached for the hypodermic needle to administer more pain killer. I felt that he wasn't being considerate. Why? I don't remember him in the beginning spraying my gums to numb the injection site before he injected the first pain killer. That was very uncomfortable. After he started working on me and I couldn't go any further because of the extreme pain , he administered more pain killer however it was done like he was stabbing me hard and not injecting me gently . He then began to rip and pull out the tooth. I understand that perhaps the tooth was difficult to extract but I felt like that he wasn't taking any extra care to make it easier on me. It appeared that he had lots of ...
patients and he wanted to move on to the next one and the one after. When it was over I was given a pre-printed page as a follow-up guide by his young male assistant's one who would be attending dental school in the fall. Both extremely nice and professional. I went to the pharmacy and got pain killer and an antibiotic. My lower right side of my face turned deep purple and the swelling on my right lower jaw was like a large tumor. The gum site bled for over a week gradually bleeding less and less each day. Today it is 10 days since I had the tooth extraction and my gums on the lower right extraction site still hurt and so does my tongue by the extraction site. The bleeding has stopped. It has been very difficult to eat and talk. The swelling has subsided about 80 % but the purple or black and blue marks are still there so I stay home. I called my family dentist who referred me to this clinic (Jamaica Dental). He told me to call my insurance company and get a referral to another dental surgeon to assess the situation. I called my insurance company and they gave me the phone number of another dental surgeon at Presbyterian hospital in Queens. I called them and the receptionist said that she doesn’t know if their dentists would see the work of another dental surgeon and they recommended that I go back to Dr. Sadeghi. I told them that I had no confidence because of the experience and I was afraid. They said they would call me back. They did but I missed the call. I have to do a follow up here with Presbyterian. I had a gut feeling that the Dr was trying to churn as many patients as possible and that prohibited him from doing the job with "some bedside manor" a little encouragement talk and less brute force with the hypodermic needles. He seemed to be in a hurry. His waiting room had maybe 20 people in it and another 5-10 people waiting outside the entrance door to his office in the street. The force he used on the tooth to extract it was extreme but I suppose with some "doubt" It was most likely necessary or else the tooth would have come out easier. By now after 10 days after the extraction the pain should have gone away. It hasn’t. It is less painful but there is a throbbing feeling and my tongue still hurts which makes it difficult to eat. I don't know why my tongue became painful. The entire experience was awful. I have had tooth extractions in the past and it was nothing like this. It was painless. And recovery was quick. So far it is already 10 days and each day I hope that the pain and discomfort will be over and I can go on with my normal life and responsibilities. Staff, receptionists, assistants were all very nice. But I would not go back there again. "

We know that finding the right doctor or provider is important to your health. That’s why we want to ensure you have confidence in the provider profiles and listings you see on WebMD Care. Our provider data is sourced from the physicians themselves as well as publicly available databases. Any doctor or provider who claims their profile by verifying themselves can update their information and provide additional data on their specialties, education, accepted insurances, conditions they treat, and procedures they perform.

All the physician and provider reviews on WebMD Care are provided by users just like you. Knowing these reviews provide insight into how other patients feel about a doctor, we maintain internal policies and protocols to ensure the quality and accuracy of all reviews. Providers are not able to remove or modify reviews on their own. Reviews can only be removed after an internal review by our customer service team.
