"I had a new patient appointment scheduled with Dr. Ackerman, who was recommended by my current neurologist, who is moving. I called the day prior at 3:45 to reschedule my 10:15 appointment because it was becoming apparent that I was getting worse and showing symptoms of strep throat. The office staff were rude about the cancellation policy, which I knew nothing about because I’m a NEW patient. Even after asking the doctor, they still wanted me to come in sick. They said if I didn’t make the appointment, he would not see me again. Isn’t this a little extreme, I mean, people do get sick. So Simed really doesn’t care about the health of their other patients or employees? The worst part is, we’re in the middle of a Coronavirus outbreak that has made it to the US. The World Health Organization and CDC are urging people to stay home when sick. But Simed threatens not to see patients again if they don’t show up, when the sick patient is trying to do everyone a courtesy and reschedule. Just ridiculous ...and typical of the poor reputation at Simed. "Read more
