"Dr. Gannon brutally carries out the corporate greed of Universal Health Services at Holly Hill, notorious for patient abuses. Intake refused me mobility aid though I was a fall risk, forced me to wait 12 hours until 4 am strip searched me and took my clothes so I was freezing, labeled me psychotic though Duke ED specifically said I was not psychotic & not manic. After seeing me for 1 min giving no orientation & promising to come back to see me later-which she did not-she prescribed powerful psychotropic meds including an antipsychotic haldol that would worsen my pain & movement disorder, Lexapro that would worsen my agitation (I have history of bad reactions to SSRIs), refused to listen to my med regimen. I had major surgery and they denied me antacids, fiber supplements, or gabapentin though they tried to dose me with powerful mix of benzodiazepines and opiates. My father is a psychiatrist & he & Costco Pharmacy & my physical therapist were calling all weekend about the danger of stopping ...
my meds and my need for orthopedic pillows. Dr. Gannon didn't care until a coverage doctor saw me who was not invested in the daily brutality & exploitation of poor people on Medicaid who prescribed my antacids so I could eat after several days of starving me and sleep deprivation, gabapentin for pain, and regular psychiatric meds. Holly Hill stole my expensive Humira medication and ADHD meds to try to break me. I was lucky to get a coverage doctor to help me. The floors are covered in piss, vomit, and feces. Look up FBI investigations & lawsuits against UHS. My stay ended with a 2-day sexual harassment incident after which the staff still refused to do anything after finally finding the psychotic patient naked in my room and I had to threaten to call the cops on them until they would do anything. In the last unit I witnessed the horror of the abuse they inflict on less privileged patients and saw that the abuse I faced was not normal amounts of understaffing, it was calculated to extract as much money as possible from insurance and break us with starvation, sleep deprivation, air quality poisoning, calculated fights, abusive denial of sleep masks. My friend, my father, and I were calling the patient advocate multiple times a day for 5 days and no one showed up until I managed to get enough documentation of their neglect. To add insult to injury, although she talked to me for 1 minute while I begged her to listen to me and she refused to spend any time with me, Dr. Gannon charged me $150 bc she's out out of network with my insurance. My psychiatrist was at a funeral out of the country and when she came back she insisted I file a complaint and my father used to audit psych hospitals and also told me to report them to state agencies. Buzzfeed has an entire tab devoted to exposing the abuses at the for profit Universal Health Services "psych hospitals" that are simply modern-day asylums, essentially for-profit prisons. I watched them gaslight other patients, deny appropriate nutrition while throwing out extra food, refuse to spend any time listening to me about my pain and medical needs, and prescribe horrifying mixes of psych meds that were not meant to help. My father trained me to be a psychiatrist since I was a little kid, I was unique in that I knew the meds they were trying to prescribe me. No reputable psychiatrist would prescribe the mix they prescribed patients. "

Data Transparency and Trust: Understanding WebMD Doctor Listings and Reviews

We know that finding the right doctor or provider is important to your health. That’s why we want to ensure you have confidence in the provider profiles and listings you see on WebMD Care. Our provider data is sourced from the physicians themselves as well as publicly available databases. Any doctor or provider who claims their profile by verifying themselves can update their information and provide additional data on their specialties, education, accepted insurances, conditions they treat, and procedures they perform.

All the physician and provider reviews on WebMD Care are provided by users just like you. Knowing these reviews provide insight into how other patients feel about a doctor, we maintain internal policies and protocols to ensure the quality and accuracy of all reviews. Providers are not able to remove or modify reviews on their own. Reviews can only be removed after an internal review by our customer service team.

We value your input and encourage you to reach out to our support team if you encounter any issues.
