"I am currently in my late 20's. It turns out, I have seen Alyse Stern for medical consultations twice in my life. I'll try to summarize each of the experiences below. The first time was 15+ years ago, and the second time was about two years ago. Both times were very unpleasant experiences. When I was a child, I injured my ankle playing sports. Naturally, I went into the practice to see the first physician available, because my ankle was in very bad shape. It was severely inflamed, very purple/blue, and I could not put any weight on it; so it seemed obvious to me that something was wrong (or at least it was worse than other mild ankle sprains I had had previously). After meeting with Dr. Stern, she told my mother that it was just a mind sprain, and that I should be fine in about two weeks. After a few more days, the color got worse, so we decided to see an ortho specialist. Sure enough, the specialist told me that it was a very severe, grade 3, high ankle sprain, with small fractures ...
in the fibula, and that it needed to be immobilized immediately. He then proceeded to wrap it in a cast for 6 weeks. My mother and I were extremely frustrated at the treatment given to me by Dr. Stern. She downplayed my pain and concerns very quickly, and incorrectly diagnosed my ankle. Fast-forward 10+ years to the late 2010's. It had been a few years since I had a physical, and I had a few concerns about some things that had popped up with me. So I figured it was time for a physical, and I decided to pick the first doctor that was available for the fastest appointment. Lucky me, I had my second encounter with Dr. Stern. Funny enough, because it had been over a decade, I had completely forgotten about the original experience; so for all I knew, this was my first time meeting this Dr. Stern. Sure enough, I had another, very unpleasant experience. Every concern I would raise about something I had been worried about, she would stop me very quickly, and completely dismiss my concern. I felt very unheard, and I felt like she didn't care about anything I said. It really rubbed me the wrong way. Later in the day, my mother called me, so I happened to let her know about the experience. After I recalled the doctor's name, my mother immediately recognized it, and reminded me about what a horrible experience I had had when I was younger with the ankle injury. At that point, I had a huge flashback, and couldn't believe that in my entire life, I had only had two strongly negative experiences with a physician. And sure enough, they were both from the same person. I'm not a vindictive person, and I never write bad reviews, because I like to give people the benefit of the doubt. But in circumstances like this, I couldn't let it slide. If you're looking for a compassionate doctor that listens to you and wants to help you with your medical issues, look elsewhere. "

Data Transparency and Trust: Understanding WebMD Doctor Listings and Reviews

We know that finding the right doctor or provider is important to your health. That’s why we want to ensure you have confidence in the provider profiles and listings you see on WebMD Care. Our provider data is sourced from the physicians themselves as well as publicly available databases. Any doctor or provider who claims their profile by verifying themselves can update their information and provide additional data on their specialties, education, accepted insurances, conditions they treat, and procedures they perform.

All the physician and provider reviews on WebMD Care are provided by users just like you. Knowing these reviews provide insight into how other patients feel about a doctor, we maintain internal policies and protocols to ensure the quality and accuracy of all reviews. Providers are not able to remove or modify reviews on their own. Reviews can only be removed after an internal review by our customer service team.

We value your input and encourage you to reach out to our support team if you encounter any issues.
