"Aimee Shipley is awesome! I really don’t like Web MD for a variety of reasons (the biggest being that they are backed by Big Pharma and the second reason is that they can create hypochondriacs) but I know that a lot of people read these reviews so I wanted to get the word out there that she’s a wonderful nurse practitioner and just a really great person. I love her positive vibe but more importantly she’s got an amazing memory, she’s intelligent, she’s a GREAT listener and is very thorough. I think it’s very important to have a provider who you can trust, someone who, you can just tell, cares about you. All patients are people too, and there are way too many providers still, who people claim not to have a bedside manner but that “it doesn’t matter because what’s important is that they’re a good doctor, etc.,” but I tend to disagree. I believe that an important part of what makes a provider (even a surgeon!) successful is that they’ve formed a close connection with their patients. That ...may make it really hard for the providers over time, I would think, but the patients are the ones who matter, right? They’re the ones footing the bill hahaha
But seriously, I’ve found that the best providers are ones that form a bond with their patients and maybe make them laugh or discuss minor details of their personal lives, etc. I’ve never known a physician or NP who has done those things who is NOT knowledgeable, highly qualified and recommended.
So what’s the harm, all you “horrible bedside manner” physicians? If it’s just your “personality,” I hate to be harsh, but maybe you should think of going into a different field? One that doesn’t require daily contact with the public. :/
One more thing, I just found out that Aimee Shipley is leaving gastroenterology (but staying with Enloe). I was really sad to find out (she handed me a Kleenex box of course! Haha) but I’m still leaving this review so any of her future patients can see this. "Read more

"I had an appointment with a Aimee Shipley. It was scheduled for in the morning I got a confirmation text that morning that I had the appointment. In the afternoon I got a voicemail saying that they were going to cancel the appointment for the next day because Amy Shipley will not be available. They said to call the office and reschedule. I called the office to reschedule and they were going to give me an appointment in November. I don’t think it’s fair since they cancelled the appointment that I have to wait over a month to see her. I could understand it if I canceled the appointment but I did not they did. This is a reoccurring problem with this office. Amy Shipley is great, but the office staff doesn’t have it together. I had an appointment for a procedure and they changed it on me, they gave me a different date, then when I became close to the time for the procedure I got a confirmation for a different date all together. They claimed I never had that date. But I put it in my calendar ...as soon as he changed it the first time. I’m not very happy with this office. "Read more
