"Toba Weinstein I am currently in the hospital with my 17 year old son. There are no words to describe what we have been through. Had I continued to listen to Dr. TOBA WEINSTEIN, I believe my sons life would have been in danger. My son has been releasing large amounts of blood in his stool for 11 days, is chronically anemic, and this doctor refused to provide proper treatment. After the first bloody bowel movement, I called immediately. Her covering doctor told me it could be viral. I asked what virus can produce that amount of blood and she said NONE!? Okay…so now, we know my son has IBD. However, she says wait a few days. The next day, we are on the phone with Toba. My son continues to get worse and we call again. Again, she insists we wait. We go through an entire sleepless weekend. Monday comes and it’s appointment time. She is the rudest, most insulting, and non-comedic doctor I ever met. Even her “jokes” are insulting. During the visit, she knew absolutely nothing about his history ...
(been a patient for years). Asked why we changed meds in the last 8 days!? I said, “what on earth are you taking about”. He didn’t add meds in the last 8 days! We have not seen you in 6 months. The exhaustion and blood continued. The day after the appointment, WE explained to HER, that the bloodwork shows he’s severely anemic. Yet, no iron infusion because she “would have to schedule that for next week”. Um, my son would be in cardiac arrest way before then. And SHE saw his severely low hemoglobin levels! Moving on…although the bloody stools started to improve, he’s now becoming more and more exhausted. She tells us to wait until Friday (another 4 days) and then we can touch base! She should actually be reported based on her negligence. He has been perfectly “healthy”, managing his crohns and colitis, without a flare up since the age of three. We have been with her for years because her partner left (I wonder why). My son has been so healthy, we have not needed her more than routine visits, twice a year. So our interactions were quick in the past. However, visit after visit, this doc would attempt to change his meds. We denied over and over, until she really got into my “son’s ear”. She continued to pressure us to change to another med. I caved and ultimately I agreed. However, as I suspected, here I am in Winthrop, as my sons entire system shut down. When I told her he couldn’t keep down his iron pills (and he’s highly anemic), her answer was “so take him off”. This woman doesn’t know what meds he is on, what she has prescribed, and she has made COUNTLESS mistakes with his medicine, blood work, and overall instructions. I truly believe we are in this position because of her. Her med change resulted in a slow decline for my son, until he began to bleed uncontrollably. I blame myself for not seeing the exhaustion signs for months. However, I just chalked it up to late nights, winter breaks, lots of basketball, and being a teenager. Over the last 12 days, my son has not eaten anything other than toast and could not get out of bed, even for school. The doctor was made aware of all of this. I am praying this will be the last time this woman does this to another family or child. Maybe my reviews will help prevent suffering, the way my poor son has. "

Data Transparency and Trust: Understanding WebMD Doctor Listings and Reviews

We know that finding the right doctor or provider is important to your health. That’s why we want to ensure you have confidence in the provider profiles and listings you see on WebMD Care. Our provider data is sourced from the physicians themselves as well as publicly available databases. Any doctor or provider who claims their profile by verifying themselves can update their information and provide additional data on their specialties, education, accepted insurances, conditions they treat, and procedures they perform.

All the physician and provider reviews on WebMD Care are provided by users just like you. Knowing these reviews provide insight into how other patients feel about a doctor, we maintain internal policies and protocols to ensure the quality and accuracy of all reviews. Providers are not able to remove or modify reviews on their own. Reviews can only be removed after an internal review by our customer service team.

We value your input and encourage you to reach out to our support team if you encounter any issues.
