"I initially Saw Dr. Shroytria’s resident, who was very nice, i expressed to The resident i was experiencing excessive anxiety and the reasons for the anxiety. I explained to him that I hadn’t slept more than 3-4 hours in a little over two months due to obsessive and intrusive thoughts. I expressed that I was so very tired and i couldn’t function! He suggested an SSRI, which was fine, but I expressed, through tears, that I need something now. The SSRI doesn’t work for about 4-6 weeks and I’m suffering now. He told me that he’d write it up and ask his attending, Dr. Shrotriya, wanted to come in and say “hi.” Dr. Shrotriya Did come in and was polite. She apologized that I Wasn’t feeling well and doubled down on the SSRI med. Even though i expressed my coping mechanisms hasn’t been working and that I see a therapist she tried to advise me on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy Techniques (which I already do). To add insult to injury, and being out her depth, she offered a suggestion for a book on ...
“Insonia”, asked if I had any friends who I could talk to, and, finally suggested that when I’m awaken at 3 am to intrusive thoughts I should get up and “wash dishes.” How insensitive! I felt worse after leaving than I did before seeing the doctors. I told her I’d just find a psychiatrist, and her question was, “You haven’t seen a psychiatrist yet?!” No, i told her. I was starting with my primary doctors office. I feel much more worse than when going in, it’s like they didn’t see me. Like they didn’t believe i was in crisis. What’s the point of having a primary doctor who coordinates your care. I was in such distress that 2 people stopped me on my way out, one to pray for me (another patient) and a staff member hugged me tightly and said it would be ok. As I was leaving my therapist (PhD) called me because I left her a message about being in crisis, while on the phone and hearing how upset I was, she asked if they’d given me anything for my anxiety on an as needed basis. She asked me to explain their rationale and didn’t understand why they wouldn’t give me something when she could hear that I was upset. I’m reconsidering being a patient at Georgetown Internal Medicine. My concern wasn’t addressed and I don’t trust if I’m in a worse situation they will be help me. I’m disappointed, upset, panicking, and sleep deprived still. "

Data Transparency and Trust: Understanding WebMD Doctor Listings and Reviews

We know that finding the right doctor or provider is important to your health. That’s why we want to ensure you have confidence in the provider profiles and listings you see on WebMD Care. Our provider data is sourced from the physicians themselves as well as publicly available databases. Any doctor or provider who claims their profile by verifying themselves can update their information and provide additional data on their specialties, education, accepted insurances, conditions they treat, and procedures they perform.

All the physician and provider reviews on WebMD Care are provided by users just like you. Knowing these reviews provide insight into how other patients feel about a doctor, we maintain internal policies and protocols to ensure the quality and accuracy of all reviews. Providers are not able to remove or modify reviews on their own. Reviews can only be removed after an internal review by our customer service team.

We value your input and encourage you to reach out to our support team if you encounter any issues.
