"Feeling like I was pushed through appointment, no vitals taken, no medication reviewed by your staff. Told my shoulder needs to be removed and replaced with metal with very little explanation of what the procedure is. You told me that you did not care about the muscle damage nor wanted to deal with any of the other related issues that are occurring with the entire shoulder. No MRI ? No other tests nothing? You did stick me with cortisone which I could have done at any orthopedic doctors office. I actually thought I was going to a professional but it appears I have not found that individual yet. I will not be returning ever. Good luck with your bedside manners in the future. A pissed off veteran, John A. Gendron"

"I was with my mentally disabled grandmother today who was being seen for a shoulder injury. I’m glad I came with her because she’s not the greatest at advocating for herself. When being seen by Dr. Smiley today and he was asking questions, he was patronizing her while doing so. Specifically when she asked if it was possible to get an order for a PT home- visiting nurse, since she’s home alone majority of the day. She was trying to hand him the card to show him who she’s used in the past. He rudely interrupted her, saying he doesn’t know, he doesn’t know what that is or how that’s done he’ll have to see. That sort of care requires a doctor to place the order. He didn’t let her re-clarify or even finish what she was asking for. I was very upset with how quick he was to write her off as she is hard to understand at times, but that is not any reason to talk down to her and not hear her out. At the end of the visit he came back in, with the same condescending tone, saying he’ll “see what he ...
can do…maybe it’ll happen, maybe it won’t but he’ll see her in 4 weeks”. If you’re telling her she needs to PT, how will she if she doesn’t get that doctor’s order? So if your job is to help people you should be treating those who you’re helping how you want to be treated. I’m not saying everyone is easy to help, but the very minimum you treat them kindly. "

Data Transparency and Trust: Understanding WebMD Doctor Listings and Reviews

We know that finding the right doctor or provider is important to your health. That’s why we want to ensure you have confidence in the provider profiles and listings you see on WebMD Care. Our provider data is sourced from the physicians themselves as well as publicly available databases. Any doctor or provider who claims their profile by verifying themselves can update their information and provide additional data on their specialties, education, accepted insurances, conditions they treat, and procedures they perform.

All the physician and provider reviews on WebMD Care are provided by users just like you. Knowing these reviews provide insight into how other patients feel about a doctor, we maintain internal policies and protocols to ensure the quality and accuracy of all reviews. Providers are not able to remove or modify reviews on their own. Reviews can only be removed after an internal review by our customer service team.

We value your input and encourage you to reach out to our support team if you encounter any issues.
