"Absolutely horrendous visit with this man. This was my first visit with him, second at his practice. I was reassured by his supervisor/the doctor I initially saw back in march w saw that my skin diagnosis, a controversial and rare issue was one he and his practice believed to be tmedical, not psychological. This was the only reason I was willing to go back to the practice and see another provider. Upon entering the room, Michael started off by telling me he reviewed my chart, and scolded me for not taking a medication I was prescribed by my general doctor. This medication was described to me as a heavy "benedryl", not an actual treatment for the condition I was diagnosed with. I explained that my hope in seeing a specialist again, I could try another antibiotic which I've responded to well in the past... I reminded Michael that Dr. Smith told me he was open to different combinations and trials of antibiotics, etc. since each patient with this that he has seen has had varieties of successes ...
and failures. Well, that was of no interest to this man. I even told him that I respected his advice, but I did not come for a counseling session. That only seemed to encourage him to do more of what I asked him to stop with. I couldn't believe his bedside manner, his disregard for my anquish. Fortunately, this condition being confused with other mental issues allowed him to think he could continue the unwanted dialog. He asked me if I had financial issues or problems at home...maybe I'm very stressed and can't handle it all... He took 1 quick look at my skin. I had photos to share and a sample to provide him with, but he said "people come in here with bags of things and there's nothing in the sample....". I was crushed. I was humiliated. I work in healthcare and have plenty of insight into my own issues, but this through me for a loop. I cried in my car, needing to compose myself before work. I regret meeting this man so much. I started a new job a few weeks ago, and took time I didn't have to see this man. I can honestly say that Michael did more emotional damage in 15 minutes, than I've experienced in probably 6 months. I desperately hope he is able to be stopped. Empathy and respect should always be number 1. I wish I didn't have to write this, but I hope others don't have to deal with what I did. It was appalling. Data Transparency and Trust: Understanding WebMD Doctor Listings and Reviews

We know that finding the right doctor or provider is important to your health. That’s why we want to ensure you have confidence in the provider profiles and listings you see on WebMD Care. Our provider data is sourced from the physicians themselves as well as publicly available databases. Any doctor or provider who claims their profile by verifying themselves can update their information and provide additional data on their specialties, education, accepted insurances, conditions they treat, and procedures they perform.

All the physician and provider reviews on WebMD Care are provided by users just like you. Knowing these reviews provide insight into how other patients feel about a doctor, we maintain internal policies and protocols to ensure the quality and accuracy of all reviews. Providers are not able to remove or modify reviews on their own. Reviews can only be removed after an internal review by our customer service team.

We value your input and encourage you to reach out to our support team if you encounter any issues.
