"Literally the least informed, least helpful doctor I’ve ever seen, and for my first surgery ever no less. Dr. Coville did my ACL surgery in 2016. Anesthesia was not effective on me and I woke up screaming in pain. Unfortunately, my grandmother passed away in Australia a few days after my surgery. When I went to see Dr. Coville to discuss how I could safely get to Australia for her funeral or what risks I should anticipate, he told me with absolute certainty that no one flies within 3 months of having surgery. No one. Eventually he told me I couldn’t fly coach so that my knee could stay elevated and that I should take blood thinners to minimize risk of blood clots. When I returned a month later, I saw him again - at which point he said, “Have you been going to your knee classes?” I said, “what knee classes?” He said “you’re supposed to go to physical therapy classes to manage the healing process.” He had never mentioned any physical therapy to me. At the same appointment, I pointed out ...
that a suture knot had fallen out and was weeping. When I asked if that was normal or if it was going to stop soon, he actually shrugged at me and said, “I don’t know.” I’m only giving 3 stars because the surgery was successful. I told a coworker about these instances, and he asked the name of my surgeon. When I told him, he shook his head and said, “I had that same guy do my ACL surgery. He messed it up so badly, they had to do it again.” "

Data Transparency and Trust: Understanding WebMD Doctor Listings and Reviews

We know that finding the right doctor or provider is important to your health. That’s why we want to ensure you have confidence in the provider profiles and listings you see on WebMD Care. Our provider data is sourced from the physicians themselves as well as publicly available databases. Any doctor or provider who claims their profile by verifying themselves can update their information and provide additional data on their specialties, education, accepted insurances, conditions they treat, and procedures they perform.

All the physician and provider reviews on WebMD Care are provided by users just like you. Knowing these reviews provide insight into how other patients feel about a doctor, we maintain internal policies and protocols to ensure the quality and accuracy of all reviews. Providers are not able to remove or modify reviews on their own. Reviews can only be removed after an internal review by our customer service team.

We value your input and encourage you to reach out to our support team if you encounter any issues.
