"Very disappointed with Doctor and subsequent questions after the initial appointment. I had to wait quite a while for him to determine when I could get an appointment as he needed to review some lab results online prior to first visit. After waiting for quite a while to get this appt with him, I was told that my condition indicates I should be on medication. While I had seen another Endocrinologist a few months ago, he advised me of that fact and referred me to the previous doctor. While I researched my condition independently, I got to thinking that I probably need to eliminate certain foods from my diet and get prescription. I called the practice on Tuesday, (4 days after my appointment) and requested a call back from the Doctor or a staff member to discuss a medication prescription and to discuss diet restrictions. While I did get a return call on Wednesday, which I missed, I called back the office and spoke with a staff member who advised me that Dr. Edelson was UNWILLING to assist ...
with either concern and that I should see the previous Endocrinologist as his , (Dr. Edelson's) involvement would create a conflict of interest. His lack of involvement potentially puts me greater risk of more serious health issues. My question: Since when is a Doctor not supposed to help a patient? What about his responsibility as a Doctor? What about the Hippocratic Oath? He has no idea of how long it will take to get in and see the other Doctor, (as previously stated, it took quite a while to get in and see him). Will my condition get significantly worse while I wait for an appointment with the previous Doctor? While I might have seen another Endocrinologist previously, I didn't realize or remember it. Even if I did remember, it was for a different diagnosis. As a patient, with my current insurance I should be able to go to multiple Doctors even if they are in the same "type" of practice. If he knew that I had seen a Endocrinologist prior to him, why see me in the first place? What a waste of my time and payment of the copay. "

Our provider data is sourced from the physicians themselves as well as publicly available databases. Any doctor or provider who claims their profile by verifying themselves can update their information and provide additional data on their specialties, education, accepted insurances, conditions they treat, and procedures they perform.

All the physician and provider reviews on WebMD Care are provided by users just like you. Knowing these reviews provide insight into how other patients feel about a doctor, we maintain internal policies and protocols to ensure the quality and accuracy of all reviews. Providers are not able to remove or modify reviews on their own. Reviews can only be removed after an internal review by our customer service team.
