OVERVIEW

Dr. Daniel Fulkerson, M.D., had a lightbulb moment in his third year of medical school when he realized that he wanted to be a neurosurgeon. He finds neurosurgery to be interesting and rewarding, and the specialty where he's most comfortable. Dr. Fulkerson is a pediatric neurosurgeon at Beacon Medical Group. He graduated from the University of Notre Dame with Bachelor's degrees in Government and Aerospace Engineering before graduating from the Indiana University School of Medicine. Dr. Fulkerson went on to serve an internship in General Surgery at Wright State University before joining the United States Air Force. He achieved the rank of Captain before leaving in 2003. After leaving the Air Force, he was a resident in Neurological Surgery at the Indiana University School of Medicine from 2003-2009. He followed up his residency with a fellowship in Pediatric Neurosurgery at the Texas Children's Hospital at the Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas. Dr. Fulkerson then returned to the IU School of Medicine as an Associate Professor, earning multiple Faculty Teaching Awards, while serving as a Neurosurgeon at Goodman Campbell Brain and Spine in Indianapolis from 2010-2018. He also was appointed to five hospitals, including the James Whitcomb Riley Hospital for Children, during that time. Dr. Fulkerson joined Beacon Medical Group in 2018 as a pediatric neurosurgeon. He has also held dozens of lectures and has published more than 60 articles, multiple book chapters and his own book, "Nothing Good Happens at the Baby Hospital." Teamwork is an important aspect of his practice. It takes many different people to treat a complex patient, and he know lives are saved every day by collaboration. "He was deserving of a 0 to negative number star rating. I came out far worse after surgery compared to how I came in. He left me with a very large post-op complication, ignored me, and took four ER visits to the ER for someone to make him pay attention to me. I couldn't move my head, could barely open my mouth to eat or drink, couldn't cough, couldn't sneeze, and basically couldn't normally function. He didn't care at all. When it came down to it, the surgeon who saw my complication at my fourth ER visit couldn't believe nothing had been done yet. He expressed that I needed immediate care. That surgeon was so kind and helpful (not Fulkerson). I ended up being admitted for care for four days. I couldn't even move my head. He leaves AWFUL clinical notes about you that are rude, incorrect, and don't match what he says while visiting with you for your appointment (and I always had someone with me for a second ear). I highly suggest you record your appointments. I don't feel safe in his care, ...
and you shouldn't either. All of my proof and paper trail files are going to the medical board as well. Never have I been treated so poorly by a doctor. He is also really CREEPY. He repeatedly says he "knows me VERY well", after just one to two visits. What weirdo says this? This man works with your kids, and with adults, and I highly suggest you seek better care and stay far away from this "doctor". He is disgustingly rude. My family who's gone to my appointments and saw what I went through couldn't believe it, nor could the nurses and any of my doctors!! All of my doctors have 5-star ratings. He won't ever get that from me. I hope he loses his license one day. He will at this rate. Don't trust this man with your life. I'm nearly immobile because of him now. Many of their nurses say he has a "god complex", a doctor said he is "not light and fluffy", and the list goes on. I have never experienced medical gaslighting until "Doctor" Fulkerson, and such manipulation and PTSD from horrendous care. The nurses are great, but there isn't a bad enough word to describe this evil disgusting man. "

Data Transparency and Trust: Understanding WebMD Doctor Listings and Reviews

We know that finding the right doctor or provider is important to your health. That’s why we want to ensure you have confidence in the provider profiles and listings you see on WebMD Care. Our provider data is sourced from the physicians themselves as well as publicly available databases. Any doctor or provider who claims their profile by verifying themselves can update their information and provide additional data on their specialties, education, accepted insurances, conditions they treat, and procedures they perform.

All the physician and provider reviews on WebMD Care are provided by users just like you. Knowing these reviews provide insight into how other patients feel about a doctor, we maintain internal policies and protocols to ensure the quality and accuracy of all reviews. Providers are not able to remove or modify reviews on their own. Reviews can only be removed after an internal review by our customer service team.

We value your input and encourage you to reach out to our support team if you encounter any issues.
