"We were referred here for my father’s Parkinson’s Disorder. After scans were run we were called in and told he didn’t have Parkinson’s. I asked about recent aphasia symptoms. The doctor said,”well that would be signs of a stroke, and he hasn’t had a stroke. My father and I both explained he was admitted 9 years earlier with stroke. The doctor looked back at his scan then looked up and said, “no he’s never had a stroke”. I didn’t know what to say. I felt certain the stroke should be able to be seen. But he is the doctor. Then he stopped all Parkinson’s meds. A month later my father started loosing total control of his legs. Another month later, I was looking at my Dad as a major stroke began. I called an ambulance and a local hospital saved his life. They ran scans. They saw the stroke from 9 years ago and a MAJOR stroke present long before that day. They know this because my dads body had time to form complete new blood vessels around the blockage. I understand that tests can be wrong ...
or imaging can be unclear. But as we told him there was a definite stroke history and new stroke symptoms presenting he did not listen at all. He didn’t ask to get records from the hospital or neurologist that had treated the prior stroke. He completely discharged him and made my father feel like a fool. I am investigating how to report malpractice though thankfully my father is alive and I don’t have to file a lawsuit. "

Data Transparency and Trust: Understanding WebMD Doctor Listings and Reviews

We know that finding the right doctor or provider is important to your health. That’s why we want to ensure you have confidence in the provider profiles and listings you see on WebMD Care. Our provider data is sourced from the physicians themselves as well as publicly available databases. Any doctor or provider who claims their profile by verifying themselves can update their information and provide additional data on their specialties, education, accepted insurances, conditions they treat, and procedures they perform.

All the physician and provider reviews on WebMD Care are provided by users just like you. Knowing these reviews provide insight into how other patients feel about a doctor, we maintain internal policies and protocols to ensure the quality and accuracy of all reviews. Providers are not able to remove or modify reviews on their own. Reviews can only be removed after an internal review by our customer service team.

We value your input and encourage you to reach out to our support team if you encounter any issues.
