"In my opinion Dr. Lam is a horrible surgeon and is highly unethical. He's practically ruined my life. My face looks horrible and the cost for revision surgery to hopefully fix my problems (no guarantees) is extremely expensive. And yes, the username is intentional. I made a Gmail account specifically to leave this review to protect my identity. On a side note, if you scroll down, I see a decent amount of reviews here that just have 5 stars but no comments which seems like a red flag. Maybe those 5 star reviews are fake. Who takes the time to leave a review and just clicks the stars and doesn't bother to write a sentence or 2?? Go to healthgrades.com or vitals.com to get more accurate reviews. Side note 2 - If you consult with a surgeon and they don't take before pictures of you that's a huge red flag. The talented ones take before and after photos so they can show you objective results after your procedure. Dr. Lam performed blepharoplasty (eyelid) surgery on my upper and lower ...
eyelids and the results are beyond awful. I now have facial deformities and require extremely challenging and expensive reconstructive surgery. There are only handful of specialized oculofacial surgeons the country who can successfully perform these types of complex revisions. I can't even leave the house. If I wasn't able to work from home, I'd be unemployed if I had to go into an office looking like this. This is soooo horrible and I have PTSD from this ordeal. To add insult to injury Dr. Lam denies objective reality and talks in circles when I've discussed my complications with him. He won't admit to them even though they're obvious even to the untrained eye. People ask me if I'm sick. They say my eyes look sunken or bulging. Furthermore, I consulted with several nationally recognized surgeons post operatively about revision surgery and they all consistently acknowledged my complications. So Lam disagrees with all the other surgeons and photographic evidence. Talking to him is infuriating. It's like questioning a clearly guilty defendant trying to dodge the prosecutors questions. My lower eyelids now droop down which is referred to as lower eyelid retraction or lower eyelid malposition. You can see the white part of my eyes underneath my iris when I am looking straight ahead which is referred to as scleral show. It looks revolting - like a hound dog. Lam made the incision in my lower eyelids from the outside (transcutaneous) and he should have made the incision from inside the eyelid (transconjunctival) on someone like myself. My eyeballs protrude out farther than my cheekbones which is why the incision should have been made from the inside. Its called having a negative cheek vector and classified as a morphologically prone eye. I should have done my research preoperatively and wish I knew then what I know now. I never would have let him touch me had done more research and not trusted this guy preoperatively. Google the terminology here if your considering blepharoplasty so you don't make the same life altering mistake I made. My upper eyelids look like "bug eyes". Think of an elderly person with a skeletonized face where their entire eyelid is exposed and there is a hollow dent underneath their eyebrows. This is how Lam made me look! He took out nearly all the fat in my upper eyelids leaving them hollow and indented. Also, he made the incision in the wrong spot making the eyelid crease so high that its sucked into the indentations. All the medical literature I came across indicated that the incision should have been made somewhere between 7 - 9 mm above my eyelashes but Lam made the incision 15 mm above the eyelashes! Nowadays its well known that having volume in your face is what looks youthful. That's why fillers are so popular. Look on the state's medical licensing website and in county public records to see if the Dr. has any complaints or lawsuits filed against them. Only consider someone with lots of bef "

"Going to Dr. Lam for breast implant/abdominoplasty procedure is the worst mistake I've ever made in my life. It's been a nightmare! Dr. Lam was dishonest with me during our consultation. He assured me that he would only give me 'moderate'-sized implants (approx. size D), which I absolutely insisted on--I even told him, "I don't like the big-busted look"--but then, without my knowledge or permission, he decided on his own to give me 575cc implants instead, which are HUGE!--Now instead of size D I'm cup size G/DDDD! Now I look fat, top-heavy and out-of-proportion. HOW COULD DR. LAM DO THIS TO ME, or to any patient! What's more, Dr. Lam's surgery resulted in the most serious health problems I've ever had--shortness of breath and extreme back pain--to the point where, even 3 years later, I STILL can no longer walk 100' without getting so s.o.b. that I have to sit and rest. To make bad things worse--unlike reputable plastic surgeons in our area, Dr. Lam never offered to do a Revision ...
on my breasts even though he clearly gave me over-sized implants in the first place (most surgeons will do a revision of without charging the patient further). When I finally requested that Dr. Lam give me the needed revision, he gave me an estimate of $11,000--the full price of the surgery all over again--even though the reason my breasts are over-sized is HIS FAULT to begin with! Dr. Lam wants your money but he clearly doesn't care about his patients' well-being. He is the most uncaring, dishonest, untrustworthy doctor I've ever crossed paths with. I wouldn't trust him as a dermatologist or any other kind of doctor because, given how much harm he's caused me alone, he just doesn't care if he harms his patients. And in the aftermath he will feign innocence and blame the patient, as he is now doing with me. "

Data Transparency and Trust: Understanding WebMD Doctor Listings and Reviews

We know that finding the right doctor or provider is important to your health. That’s why we want to ensure you have confidence in the provider profiles and listings you see on WebMD Care. Our provider data is sourced from the physicians themselves as well as publicly available databases. Any doctor or provider who claims their profile by verifying themselves can update their information and provide additional data on their specialties, education, accepted insurances, conditions they treat, and procedures they perform.

All the physician and provider reviews on WebMD Care are provided by users just like you. Knowing these reviews provide insight into how other patients feel about a doctor, we maintain internal policies and protocols to ensure the quality and accuracy of all reviews. Providers are not able to remove or modify reviews on their own. Reviews can only be removed after an internal review by our customer service team.

We value your input and encourage you to reach out to our support team if you encounter any issues.
