"Dr. Mandelin has my thumbs up. I went as a new Rheumatologist patient. He took the time to listen to my concerns. He was nice and understanding. Answered all my questions and explained things very clearly. I was very happy with my experience. I do wish he had more visual contact with me. But overall, he was very thorough. I am very disappointed that Northwestern does not allow patients to write doctor reviews on the Northwestern website."

"BEWARE OF THIS PRACTICE* Scheduled my appointment almost 2 months ago because my ANA results came back very high. I wanted to get an appointment ASAP but this was the next in-person appointment I could get and I went through hell trying to get it. My appointment was at 3pm and I checked in at 3pm sharp. The receptionist (Antonette I believe her name was) said I had a $40 co-pay and I said I would pay it on MyChart and that was fine because that is what I have been doing with previous appointments. After waiting for 45 mins I asked if Dr. Mandelin was running behind (because I get it, I used to work for an Ophthalmologist and sometimes Dr.'s get behind) and the receptionist said she'd check. 10 minutes later she calls me to the desk and tells me there was an issue with my insurance and that I need to reschedule (Which was weird because I've been using the same insurance for 7 months now with no problems). The next appointment they had was almost a month out. I was so upset. I asked her ...
if I can have proof (a print out) that my insurance did not go through and after a while of her clicking around she said my insurance now went through but unfortunately since it has been over an hour already Dr. Mandelin could no longer see me because he needs at least an hour with his new patients. I said is there any way he can see me briefly since I have been waiting here, spent $$ on transportation, AND waited forever to get this appointment? And she said no because he needs an hour. Even though within "my hour" I was waiting, patients were getting called back to see him. Strange. I then asked if I could speak to the office manager. She went back to get her and came back to tell me it will be "a minute" because she's finishing up some things. I waited another 20 minutes with my blood boiling at this point (been waiting 1 hour 30 minutes now). When the office manager finally came out, she was very sweet and understanding. Cherine, the office manager, gave me her card and said she will get me in before the appointment Antonette offered. It is Friday and she said she will contact me by Tuesday with another appointment and told me if I do not hear from her to call her. Never in my life have a experienced such incompetence. As I stated before, I worked in a doctors office for 6 years and I know he would NEVER do this to a new patient and would do anything to fit them in THAT DAY no matter how busy he was. Not only did I waste my time, but I also wasted $40 on ubers getting to my appointment. I now have to wait and worry about my health even longer. Not to mention they deleted my appointment on MyChart so now I cant even write a Northwestern review on Dr. Mandelin. "

Data Transparency and Trust: Understanding WebMD Doctor Listings and Reviews

We know that finding the right doctor or provider is important to your health. That’s why we want to ensure you have confidence in the provider profiles and listings you see on WebMD Care. Our provider data is sourced from the physicians themselves as well as publicly available databases. Any doctor or provider who claims their profile by verifying themselves can update their information and provide additional data on their specialties, education, accepted insurances, conditions they treat, and procedures they perform.

All the physician and provider reviews on WebMD Care are provided by users just like you. Knowing these reviews provide insight into how other patients feel about a doctor, we maintain internal policies and protocols to ensure the quality and accuracy of all reviews. Providers are not able to remove or modify reviews on their own. Reviews can only be removed after an internal review by our customer service team.

We value your input and encourage you to reach out to our support team if you encounter any issues.
