"She is friendly, but I have caught her on two occasions making the wrong diagnosis. I was a patient of hers about 10yrs ago. I went in with my 5yr child. We both had bug bites all over us. I couldn't figure out what it was. Mrs. Lewis told me we had SCABBIES! She prescribed a creme that caused me to have a very bad allergic reaction. I had to be taken to the ER, given a shot, and put on two rounds of steroids. The ER doctor laughed when I told him she prescribed this creme because she said we had scabbies. He told me to go home and check my bed sheets for little black bugs and behind mt curtains. Sure enough they were there. It was bed bugs that were biting us, not scabbies! I did call out an exterminator to confirm thats what they were. 10 yrs later, I just took my niece in there because her home was found to be infested with bed bugs and she was getting bit all up. We just wanted to know if there was anything we could do for her medically and also check to make sure she wasn't anemic. ...
She had at least a hundred bites all over her body. Again, bed bugs were found! I told Mrs. Lewis bed bugs were found. She was not concerned about anemia and AGAIN said that it wasn't bed bugs it was SCABBIES! She the preceded to wprescribe the same creme to my 2yr old niece that she did to me 10yrs earlier. I left there and took my niece to another clinic. They checked her lvls and gave us a creme to help with the itch and healing. I know other people in that area that have recieved the scabbies diagnosis from her, and it is bed bugs everytime. (Yes the area is bad for them. Its a very poor community. ) Besides this incident...my daughter also had an eye condition that was nvr treated properly under Mrs. Lewis's care. She kept saying it was pink eye even after I insisted I thought it was something else because antibiotics weren't helping. She just accused me of not administering them properly and prescribed more antibiotics. Thats when i took my child to a new pediatrician and got a proper diagnosis. By this time my child lost half her vision in that eye. It is permanently scared and she is considered legally blind in that eye. "

Data Transparency and Trust: Understanding WebMD Doctor Listings and Reviews

We know that finding the right doctor or provider is important to your health. That’s why we want to ensure you have confidence in the provider profiles and listings you see on WebMD Care. Our provider data is sourced from the physicians themselves as well as publicly available databases. Any doctor or provider who claims their profile by verifying themselves can update their information and provide additional data on their specialties, education, accepted insurances, conditions they treat, and procedures they perform.

All the physician and provider reviews on WebMD Care are provided by users just like you. Knowing these reviews provide insight into how other patients feel about a doctor, we maintain internal policies and protocols to ensure the quality and accuracy of all reviews. Providers are not able to remove or modify reviews on their own. Reviews can only be removed after an internal review by our customer service team.

We value your input and encourage you to reach out to our support team if you encounter any issues.
